Regular Season Round 26: Atalaya Rosario - Olimpico Ceres 100-81

TFB round 26 caused change at the leadership position. Fifth defeat of league's leader Olimpico (12-5) against first ranked Atalaya Rosario (14-10) 100-81 was the most important game of the last round. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Olimpico. Atalaya Rosario made 22-of-23 free shots (95.7 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Olimpico 31-19 including a 25-13 advantage in defensive rebounds. 24 personal fouls committed by Olimpico helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Forward Max Yanson (195-95) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 29 points and 12 rebounds. Guard Lautaro Suarez (174-94) contributed with 22 points and 7 assists for the winners. Four Atalaya Rosario players scored in double figures. Forward Franco Benitez (195-94) replied with 21 points and 5 rebounds and point guard German Gonzalez (188-92) added 15 points and 6 steals in the effort for Olimpico. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Newly promoted Atalaya Rosario maintains first position with 14-10 record. Olimpico at the other side dropped to the second place with five games lost. They share the position with 4 other teams. They were replaced at the leadership position by Ferro Carrill O.. Olimpico will have a break next week, which should allow them to rest and make it back to the top of the standings. Atalaya Rosario will try to continue on its current victory against second ranked Penarol in Rosario del Tala.
