The most surprising game was a loss of top-ranked Gembo BBC (14-5) on the court of tenth ranked Gent Hawks on Saturday night. Visitors were defeated by Gent Hawks 60-55. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Gembo BBC. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Gent Hawks made 17 blocks. It was a good game for forward Gregory De-Pooter (197-84) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds. Center Rik Van-den-Berghe (206-93) contributed with 10 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 blocks for the winners. Forward Sam Renier (187-92) answered with 15 points and 6 rebounds and guard Bryan De Valck (192-95) added 8 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Gembo BBC. Gent Hawks have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to ninth place. Gembo BBC at the other side still keeps top position with five games lost. Gent Hawks are looking forward to face higher ranked Gistel Oostende (#8) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Gembo BBC will play against Houthalen (#14) and is hoping to win this game.
