Very important is a road loss of third ranked Salerno (16-6) against sixth ranked Roma Luiss (15-8) on Saturday night. Visiting Salerno was defeated by Roma Luiss in Roma 73-62. They outrebounded Salerno 40-26 including 17 on the offensive glass. It was an exceptional evening for guard Francesco Veccia (190-93) who led the winners and scored 21 points. Center Raffaele Martone (208-90) accounted for 12 points and 8 rebounds for the winning side. Four Roma Luiss players scored in double figures. Roma Luiss' coach Andrea Paccarie allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Point guard Gennaro Sorrentino (190-85) came up with 16 points and guard Marco Cucco (189-94, agency: Players Group) added 15 points respectively for Salerno in the defeat. Roma Luiss moved-up to fourth place in B, which they share with Vicenza and Lecco. Newly promoted Salerno dropped to the fifth position with six games lost. Roma Luiss' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Roma to the arena Roma Tiber.
