The game in Willebroek was also quite interesting. 7th ranked Basic-Fit Brussels (7-13) played at the court of eighth ranked Kangoeroes (6-13). Kangoeroes did not have too big problems and got a relatively easy victory 85-68 on Saturday. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Basic-Fit Brussels. Kangoeroes shot the lights out from three sinking 18 long-distance shots on high 66.7 percentage. American players dominated the game. It was an exceptional evening for forward Kwan Cheatham-Jr (208-95, college: Akron) who led the winners and scored 17 points and 8 rebounds. Point guard Ashton Gibbs (188-90, college: Pittsburgh, agency: Duran International) accounted for 22 points for the winning side. Four Kangoeroes players scored in double figures. Forward Jeremy Simmons (204-89, college: Charleston) came up with 14 points and 6 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and power forward Brandon Peterson (204-90, college: Arkansas St., agency: Inception Sports) added 11 points and 7 rebounds respectively for Basic-Fit Brussels in the defeat. Kangoeroes maintains eighth place with 6-13 record. Loser Basic-Fit Brussels keep the seventh position with 13 games lost. Kangoeroes will meet bottom-ranked Leuven Bears (#10) on the road in the next round. Basic-Fit Brussels will play against Spirou Charleroi and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
