Regular Season Round 27: JX-Eneos S. - Aishin AW 87-61
Date: February 17, 2018
WJBL top team - JX-Eneos S. (26-1) had no problems winning another game on Saturday. This time they crushed ninth ranked Aishin Wings (8-19) in Kashiwa 87-61. The game without a history. JX-Eneos S. led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists comparing to just 15 passes made by Aishin Wings' players. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when JX-Eneos S. made 7 blocks. It was a great evening for the former international power forward Ramu Tokashiki (191-91) who led her team to a victory scoring 20 points, 9 rebounds and 4 blocks. The former international forward Yuka Osaki-Mamiya (185-90) helped adding 11 points and 7 rebounds. Four JX-Eneos S. players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was center Baiq Ghua (185-92) with 14 points and 5 rebounds and power forward Kadija Konate (180-98) scored 7 points and 6 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. JX-Eneos S. have an impressive series of twelve victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with 26-1 record. Aishin Wings at the other side keep the ninth position with 19 games lost. JX-Eneos S. are looking forward to face Mitsubishi K. (#6) in Nagoya in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Aishin Wings will play at home against Fujitsu RW and are hoping to prove to their supporters that this time they can win.
