Regular Season Round 27: Denso Iris - Haneda Vickies 81-55

Everything went according to plan in Kariya where third ranked Denso Iris (21-6) outscored 10th ranked Haneda Vickies (7-20) 81-55. The game without a history. Denso Iris led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Haneda Vickies to just 6 points in third quarter. Denso Iris forced 21 Haneda Vickies turnovers and outrebounded them 45-31 including 21 on the offensive glass. They brought some defensive toughness making 8 blocks. It was an exceptional evening for the former international center Sakura Akaho (182-96) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 22 rebounds. The former international power forward Maki Takada (183-89) accounted for 16 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals for the winning side. Four Denso Iris players scored in double figures. Guard Nanoko Motohashi (164-93) came up with 19 points and power forward Yumi Hiromi (180-90) added 8 points and 6 assists respectively for Haneda Vickies in the defeat. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Denso Iris maintains third place with 21-6 record having five points less than leader JX-Eneos S. Haneda Vickies lost their seventh game in a row. They keep the tenth position with 20 games lost. Denso Iris will play against Yamanashi QB (#11) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Haneda Vickies will play against Chanson V-M and hope to get back on the winning track.
