There was no surprise in Barcelona where 14th ranked Barca II (8-15) was defeated by third ranked La ICL Manresa (17-6) 103-94 on Sunday. The guests were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. La ICL Manresa dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Barca II's 42. The best player for the winners was forward Jordi Trias (208-80) who scored 15 points and 9 rebounds. Point guard Lluis Costa (187-93) chipped in 14 points and 7 assists. La ICL Manresa's coach Aleix Duran allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Swingman Aleix Font (192-98) produced 22 points and Sergi Martinez (203-99) added 18 points respectively for the hosts. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for La ICL Manresa. They maintain third place with 17-6 record having just three points less than leader Breogan. Loser Barca II dropped to the fifteenth position with 15 games lost. La ICL Manresa will face bottom-ranked Palma (#18) in S'Arenal in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Barca II will play at home against Araberri and hope to win that game.
