The game between closely ranked teams ended with ninth ranked Espoo United's (11-19) road victory over 10th ranked UU-Korihait (6-23) 113-105 on Sunday. The guests trailed by 4 points at the halftime before their 29-24 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. Espoo United made 24-of-29 free shots (82.8 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The game was dominated by American players. Point guard Jeb Ivey (190-80, college: Portland St.) had a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!) and 12 assists (made all of his nine free throws !!!) to lead the charge for the winners and guard Omar Calhoun (198-93, college: Connecticut) chipped in 28 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side guard Kevin Bracy-Davis (201, college: Davis & Elkins) responded with 22 points and 6 rebounds and guard Matthew Gibson (195-84, agency: Athleadz) scored 12 points, 6 rebounds and 9 assists. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. UU-Korihait's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Newly promoted Espoo United maintains ninth position with 11-19 record. UU-Korihait lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the tenth place with 23 games lost. Espoo United will meet at home higher ranked BC Nokia (#6) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. UU-Korihait will play against Tampereen Pyrinto (#5) and hope to secure a win.
