Regular Season Round 28: Hitachi Cougars - Toyota B SR 66-79

The game in Hitachinaka was also quite interesting. Seventh ranked Toyota B SR (16-12) played at the court of 8th ranked Hitachi Cougars (9-19). Toyota B SR defeated Hitachi Cougars 79-66 on Sunday. The guests trailed by 8 points at the halftime before their 43-22 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Toyota B SR shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 52.2 percentage. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Yui Kawahara (169-91) who helped to win the game recording 15 points, 5 rebounds and 9 assists and swingman Tomomi Ikeda (169-88) who added 20 points during the contest. Four Toyota B SR players scored in double figures. At the losing side power forward Chika Suzuki (183-93) responded with 15 points and 5 rebounds and power forward Reimi Nunira (176-93) scored 10 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Toyota B SR have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Mitsubishi K. Loser Hitachi Cougars keep the eighth position with 19 games lost. Toyota B SR will meet league's leader JX-Eneos S. in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Hitachi Cougars will play against Chanson V-M (#4) in Shizuoka and hope to secure a win.
