Regular Season Round 19: Jarvenpaa - Lahti 60-91

Everything went according to plan when fourth ranked Lahti (14-6) outscored on the road 12th ranked Jarvenpaa (2-18) 91-60 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Lahti. Jarvenpaa was better in third quarter 23-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Lahti dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Jarvenpaa's 40. It was a great evening for American power forward Henry Pwono (203-91, college: East Central) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 34 points (!!!) and 10 rebounds. Guard Sami Ikavalko (188-89) helped adding 16 points. At the losing side center Otso Laakkonen (198-93) responded with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 11 rebounds and point guard Teemu Hartikainen (180-91) scored 11 points. Jarvenpaa's coach Jarkko Lanu gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Lahti moved-up to third place in Division. Loser Jarvenpaa keeps the twelfth position with 18 games lost. Lahti will face Oulun NMKY (#9) at home in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Jarvenpaa will play against Jyvaskyla BA and hope to win that game.
