Regular Season Round 34: BC Nokia - Kataja Basket 98-76

The game in Nokia supposed to be also quite interesting. 6th ranked Joensuun Kataja (16-13) played at the court of seventh ranked BC Nokia (17-14). BC Nokia smashed Joensuun Kataja 98-76 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by BC Nokia. Joensuun Kataja managed to win third quarter 25-23. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. BC Nokia made 21-of-24 free shots (87.5 percent) during the game. It was a great shooting night for BC Nokia especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.4 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Serbian power forward Dragan Labovic (207-87, agency: Alti Sport) scored 18 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists (made all of his eight free throws) to lead the charge for the winners and Canadian guard Devoe Joseph (193-90, college: Oregon, agency: Interperformances) chipped in 24 points during the contest. Four BC Nokia players scored in double figures. At the losing side American forward Tim Williams (203-93, college: N.Mexico) responded with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 12 rebounds and his fellow American import point guard Damier Pitts (177-89, college: Marshall, agency: Inception Sports) scored 14 points and 5 assists. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. BC Nokia moved-up to sixth place. Defending champion Joensuun Kataja dropped to the seventh position with 13 games lost. BC Nokia will meet Espoo United (#9) on the road in the next round. Joensuun Kataja will play against Lapuan Korikobrat and hope to secure a win.
