Very expected game in Vitoria-Gasteiz where 10th ranked Araski (8-11) was defeated by fourth ranked Universitario de Ferrol (13-6) 81-75 on Sunday. The guests trailed by 5 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 1-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 81-75. It was a great evening for international power forward Maria Araujo (182-97) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 12 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists. American swingman Alexis Prince (188-94, college: Baylor, agency: LBM Management) helped adding 20 points and 5 rebounds. At the losing side Venezuelan point guard Roselis Silva (166-91, college: Arkansas Tech) responded with 15 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists and center Umo Diallo (192-98) scored 16 points and 6 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Araski's coach Madelen Urieta gave the chance to play for eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Universitario de Ferrol maintains fourth place with 13-6 record. Loser Araski dropped to the ninth position with 11 games lost. Universitario de Ferrol will face Gernika (#6) at home in the next round. Araski will play against the league's leader Perfumerias Avenida and hope to win that game.
