Regular Season Round 24: Salt - Mataro Feimat 69-81

Date: February 18, 2018
Not a big story in a game when 13th ranked Salt (4-14) lost at home to eighth ranked Mataro Feimat (8-10) 81-69 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Mataro Feimat. Salt was better in third quarter 20-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Strangely Salt outrebounded Mataro Feimat 41-25 including 16 on the offensive glass. It was a good game for guard Jaume Sole (196-91) who led his team to a victory with 29 points. Saikou Diallo (-98) contributed with 16 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists for the winners. Four Mataro Feimat players scored in double figures. American forward Tylor Wimbish (201-93, college: Mo.-St.Louis) replied with a double-double by scoring 13 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists and his fellow American import guard Keith Wilson (191-83, college: CS Monterey) added 20 points in the effort for Salt. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Mataro Feimat maintains eighth position in Group C-B with 8-10 record. Salt lost eighth consecutive game. They keep the thirteenth place with 14 games lost. Mataro Feimat will face league's second-placed Pardinyes-L. in Lleida in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Salt will play at home against Cornella (#7) and hope to win that game.
