Regular Season Round 39: Fukushima - Yamagata 77-72

An interesting game for Fukushima (23-13) which hosted in Fukushima 3rd placed Yamagata (15-23). Second ranked Fukushima managed to get a 5-point victory 77-72. Fukushima made 16-of-20 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. It was a good game for Nigerian center Solomon Alabi (216-88, college: Florida St.) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 16 rebounds. American guard Deon Jones (198-93, college: Monmouth) contributed with 19 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. American center Will Creekmore (205-89, college: Missouri St.) answered with 24 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists and the other American import forward Billy McShepard (208-87, college: Valdosta St., agency: Blacktop Management) added 17 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Yamagata. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Fukushima have an impressive series of six victories in a row. They maintain second place with 23-13 record behind leader Akita NH. Yamagata lost eighth consecutive game. They dropped to the fourth position with 23 games lost. They share it with Tokyo Z. Fukushima are looking forward to face league's leader Akita Happinets on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Yamagata will play against Iwate Big Bulls and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
