Regular Season Round 19: Oulun NMKY - HBA-Marsky 57-90

1st Division top team - HBA-Marsky (16-3) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed ninth ranked Oulun NMKY (5-14) 90-57. The game was mostly controlled by HBA-Marsky. Oulun NMKY was better in third quarter 16-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. HBA-Marsky dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Oulun NMKY's 34. They outrebounded Oulun NMKY 52-23 including a 38-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Mikael Jantunen (203-0) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 17 points and 15 rebounds. Guard Tomas Pihlajamaki (189-0) contributed with 19 points for the winners. Four HBA-Marsky players scored in double figures. HBA-Marsky's coach Antti Koskelainen felt very confident that he used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. American forward Micah Dunhour (198-93, college: CS East Bay) answered with 19 points and 7 rebounds and guard Semi Laine (180-97) added 10 points and 5 assists in the effort for Oulun NMKY. HBA-Marsky maintains first place in Division with 16-3 record. Oulun NMKY at the other side keeps the ninth position with 14 games lost. HBA-Marsky's next round opponent will be TuNMKY (#5) in Turun. Oulun NMKY will play on the road against Lahti (#3) and hope to win that game.
