Regular Season Round 23: Pleszew - Slask 2 Wroclaw 99-70

Very important is a road loss of second ranked Slask 2 Wroclaw (18-4) against fifth ranked Pleszew (13-9) on Sunday night. Visiting Slask 2 Wroclaw was crushed by Pleszew in Pleszew 99-70. It ended at the same time the seven-game winning streak of Slask 2 Wroclaw. Pleszew dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Slask 2 Wroclaw's 42 and made 21-of-25 charity shots (84.0 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Slask 2 Wroclaw 37-24 including 28 on the defensive glass. Power forward Przemyslaw Galewski (199-91) orchestrated the victory by scoring 25 points and 8 rebounds. Power forward Rafal Urbaniak (200-82) contributed with 13 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Five Pleszew players scored in double figures. Pleszew's coach Kasper Smektala felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Swingman Dominik Wilczek (193-99) answered with 18 points and 5 rebounds and point guard Sebastian Bozenko (182-98) added 18 points in the effort for Slask 2 Wroclaw. Newly promoted Pleszew maintains fifth place in Group D with 13-9 record. Slask 2 Wroclaw at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the second position with four games lost. Pleszew's next round opponent will be Sudety (#6) in Jelenia Gora. Slask 2 Wroclaw will play at home against Nowa Sol (#11) and hope to win that game.
