Regular Season Round 34: KTP Basket - Salon Vilpas 84-98

Leader Salon Vilpas delivered the twenty sixth victory. This time they beat 8th ranked KTP-Basket (13-18) 98-84 in Kotka. The game was mostly controlled by Salon Vilpas. KTP-Basket was better in third quarter 31-25. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Salon Vilpas shot 60.9 percent from the field. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 28 assists comparing to just 5 passes made by KTP-Basket's players. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Aaron Jones (206-93, college: Mississippi) who helped to win the game recording 23 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists (on 11-of-14 shooting from the field). The other American import point guard Jaylon Brown (183-94, college: Evansville) contributed with 13 points and 5 assists for the winners. Five Salon Vilpas players scored in double figures. U.S. Virgin Islands guard Deon Edwin (190-92, college: Kent St., agency: Interperformances) replied with 31 points and 9 rebounds and American guard Mandell Thomas (188-93, college: Fordham) added 34 points (!!!) in the effort for KTP-Basket. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Salon Vilpas (26-6) have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain first position. KTP-Basket at the other side keeps the eighth place with 18 games lost. Salon Vilpas will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. KTP-Basket will play on the road against Kauhajoki (#3) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
