Rather expected game when 10th ranked Forssan Koripojat (4-15) was edged at home by eighth ranked Jyvaskyla BA (9-9) 88-86 on Sunday. The guests were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Jyvaskyla BA forced 19 Forssan Koripojat turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. It was a great evening for guard Valtteri Leppanen (186-97) who led his team to a victory scoring 22 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Power forward Jeretapio Luoma (202-93) helped adding 12 points and 10 rebounds. Five Jyvaskyla BA players scored in double figures. At the losing side American forward Juwan Howard-Jr (200-92, college: Detroit Mercy) responded with 36 points (!!!) and 4 assists and forward Aku Haikonen (201-96) scored 14 points and 8 rebounds (perfect from the field making all six shots). Jyvaskyla BA maintains eighth place in Division with 9-9 record. Loser Forssan Koripojat dropped to the eleventh position with 15 games lost. Jyvaskyla BA will face Jarvenpaa (#12) at home in the next round. Forssan Koripojat will play against Pyrinto II in Tampere and hope to win that game.
