Regular Season Round 23: Padova - Faenza 78-74

There was a small surprise when ninth ranked Padova (11-12) won against at home 6th ranked Faenza (14-9) 78-74 on Sunday. They outrebounded Faenza 39-28 including 27 on the defensive glass. It was a great evening for forward Enrico Crosato (196-85) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds. Point guard Andrea Piazza (188-89) helped adding 18 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Point guard Marco Perin (185-93) responded with 23 points and 5 assists and swingman Gioacchino Chiappelli (198-91, agency: Octagon Europe) scored 16 points and 8 rebounds. Padova moved-up to eighth place in B, which they share with Desio. Loser Faenza keeps the sixth position with nine games lost. Padova will face league's leader Cento on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
