Regular Season Round 39: Sendai 89ers - Aomori Watts 103-86

The game between closely ranked teams ended with fourth ranked Sendai 89ers' (16-22) home victory over 5th ranked Aomori Watts (9-29) 103-86 on Sunday. They outrebounded Aomori Watts 41-26 including a 31-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. Sendai 89ers looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. It was a good game for South Sudanese-American forward Angelo Chol (206-93, college: San Diego St., agency: Two Points) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 26 points and 11 rebounds (on 11-of-14 shooting from the field). U.S. Virgin Islands center Craig Williams (206-89, college: TCU) contributed with 14 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Sendai 89ers' coach Toshihiro Goto used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to get some rest. American swingman Lakeem Jackson (195-90, college: S.Carolina, agency: SDJ Sports) answered with a double-double by scoring 22 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists and point guard Keisuke Aita (182-95) added 20 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Aomori Watts. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Sendai 89ers moved-up to third place. Loser Aomori Watts keep the fifth position with 29 games lost. Sendai 89ers will face league's leader Fukuoka Rizing on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Aomori Watts will play against the league's second-placed Kumamoto V. (#2) and hope to win that game.
