Rather predictable result in Saint-Amand where seventh ranked Tarbes (8-7) defeated 9th ranked Hainaut (5-10) 70-64 on Sunday. The best player for the winners was Spanish point guard Ana Suarez (170-87, agency: ProDep Management) who scored 16 points and 6 rebounds. Canadian forward Michelle Plouffe (193-92, college: Utah) chipped in a double-double by scoring 12 points and 11 rebounds. Four Tarbes players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Ashley Bruner (183-91, college: S.Carolina, agency: Two Points) who recorded a double-double by scoring 14 points and 11 rebounds and Spanish guard Laura Garcia (176-81, agency: ProDep Management) added 17 points and 6 rebounds respectively. Tarbes moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Lattes Montp. and Lyon. Hainaut lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the ninth position with ten games lost. Tarbes will meet at home Nice (#11) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Hainaut will play against Mondeville and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
