Regular Season Round 39: Kagawa FA - Akita NH 73-81

B League D2 top team - Akita Happinets (34-4) added another victory to their record on Sunday. This time they beat fifth ranked Kagawa FA (16-20) in Takamatsu 81-73. Akita Happinets forced 19 Kagawa FA turnovers and had a 16-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. It was a quality performance for point guard Takuya Nakayama (182-94) who led the winners and scored 14 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists. American center Nigel Spikes (208-89, college: Marshall) accounted for 6 points and 9 rebounds for the winning side. American forward Reginald Warren (204-81, college: W.Florida) came up with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 11 rebounds and guard Tomoya Ishikawa (188-96) added 11 points and 4 assists respectively for Kagawa FA in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The victory was the twelfth consecutive win for Akita Happinets. They maintain first place with 34-4 record. Kagawa FA lost their third game in a row. They keep the fifth position with 20 games lost. Akita Happinets will meet at home league's second-placed Fukushima in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Kagawa FA will play against Shinshu BW in Nagano and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
