Maccabi Ashdod dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Ramat Hasharon's 28. They outrebounded Ramat Hasharon 41-30 including a 36-22 advantage in defensive rebounds. Maccabi Ashdod looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. The best player for the winners was American power forward Tiffany Jackson (191-85, college: Texas) who scored 26 points and 9 rebounds. The other American import swingman Tiffany Hayes (177-89, college: Connecticut) chipped in 10 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists. Five Maccabi Ashdod players scored in double figures. American forward Shae Kelley (185-91, college: Minnesota) produced a double-double by scoring 21 points and 13 rebounds and guard Yael Aharonov (163-88) added 20 points respectively for the hosts. Maccabi Ashdod will meet at home Elitzur Holon (#3) in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Ramat Hasharon will play against Elitzur Ramla and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
