Regular Season Round 23: FSU - Gnupverjar 113-92

Date: February 19, 2018
The game in Selfoss supposed to be also worth to mention about. 7th ranked Gnupverjar (7-13) played at the court of eighth ranked FSU (5-16). FSU smashed Gnupverjar 113-92. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Gnupverjar. It looked good early as Gnupverjar took a 6-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then FSU had a 28-15 second period charge getting the lead and Gnupverjar was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 92-113. The best player for the winners was American forward Antowine Lamb (203-88, college: McPherson) who had a double-double by scoring 31 points and 10 rebounds (on 13-of-17 shooting from the field). Florijan Jovanov (197-91) chipped in 23 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists. Five FSU players scored in double figures. American guard Everage Richardson (191-85, college: Co.Carolina) produced 50 points (!!!), 9 rebounds and 7 assists and point guard Gabriel Moller (182-99) added 6 points and 9 assists respectively for the guests. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. FSU maintains eighth place with 5-16 record. Newly promoted Gnupverjar keeps the seventh position with 13 games lost. FSU's next round opponent will be higher ranked Fjolnir (#6) in Reykjavik and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
