Second Stage Round 4: UKF Nitra - Samorin 56-54

The most exciting game of round 4 in the Extraliga took place in Nitra. This derby game ended with only two-point defeat on the road of 5th ranked Samorin (6-4) to sixth ranked UKF Nitra (7-3) 56-54 in the game for the fifth place. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Samorin. Center Michaela Zentkova (190-89) fired 13 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Center Sona Svetlikova (184-99) chipped in 13 points. The former international power forward Romana Vynuchalova (192-86, college: Penn St.) produced a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds and international Alexandra Haskova (183-97) added 6 points and 11 rebounds respectively for lost side. UKF Nitra have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to fifth place. Samorin at the other side dropped to the sixth position with four games lost. UKF Nitra are looking forward to face bottom-ranked Slovan (#8) in Bratislava in the next round. Samorin will play at home against Banska Bystrica and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
