Regular Season Round 20: Haukar - Keflavik 81-63

The game between Top Four teams took place in Hafnarfjordur. First ranked host Haukar (15-5) defeated 3rd ranked Keflavik (13-7) 81-63. The game was mostly controlled by Haukar. Keflavik managed to win fourth quarter 14-10. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Keflavik 54-31 including a 14-3 advantage in offensive rebounds. Haukar looked well-organized offensively handing out 31 assists comparing to just 14 passes made by Keflavik's players. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international swingman Helena Sverrisdottir (184-88, college: TCU) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 27 points, 16 rebounds and 7 assists (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) and American forward Whitney Frazier (180-92, college: Louisiana Tech, agency: Two Points) who added 25 points, 17 rebounds and 7 assists during the contest. American guard Brittanny Dinkins (170-94, college: S.Mississippi) responded with 31 points and 4 steals and international forward Thelma Agustsdottir (179-98) scored 12 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Haukar have an impressive nine-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 15-5 record, which they share with Valur. Defending champion Keflavik keeps the third place with seven games lost. Haukar is looking forward to face Skallagrimur (#5) in Borganes in the next round. Keflavik will play at home against Njardvik and is hoping to prove to their fans that the loss was just an accident.
