Regular Season Round 41: Santos - Libertadores 99-96

Tenth-ranked Libertadores (11-27) gave a tough game to eighth ranked Santos (18-19) in San Luis Potosi. Santos managed to secure only three-point victory 99-96. However their fans expected easier game. American-Dominican Antonio Pena (204-86, college: Villanova) nailed 33 points (!!!) and 7 rebounds for the winning side and the former international power forward Arim Solares (202-83) accounted for 23 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists (perfect behind the arc making all five shots). American guard Brent Jackson (192-94, college: Columbus St., agency: Paris Global Sports) came up with 34 points (!!!) and 5 rebounds and the other American import forward Travis Gabbidon (201-86, college: UTSA) added 21 points and 9 rebounds respectively for Libertadores in the defeat. Four Libertadores players scored in double figures. Santos maintains eighth place with 18-19 record. Newly promoted Libertadores keep the tenth position with 27 games lost. Santos will again play against Libertadores (#10) in Queretaro in the next round. Libertadores will have a break next round.
