Regular Season Round 24: Castello - Breogan 89-91

Sixth-ranked Castello (13-12) used its home court advantage to challenge first ranked Leche Rio Breogan (21-3) in Castellon on Friday. The visitors from Lugo managed to secure only two-point victory 91-89. However their fans expected much easier game. Castello cut a 13-point halftime deficit to two at the end of the game. Leche Rio Breogan made 21-of-24 free shots (87.5 percent) during the game. It was a great shooting night for Leche Rio Breogan especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 58.8 percentage. 24 personal fouls committed by Castello helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a good game for point guard Ricardo Uriz (188-80) who led his team to a victory with 23 points and 4 assists (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). American center Matt Stainbrook (208-92, college: Xavier, agency: 3Eye) contributed with 17 points for the winners. Leche Rio Breogan's coach Natxo Lezcano used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. American-French guard Alfredo Ott (190-83, college: Dillard) replied with 18 points and 5 assists and power forward Eduard Gatell (205-89) added 11 points and 11 rebounds in the effort for Castello. Leche Rio Breogan have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 21-3 record. Castello at the other side keeps the sixth place with 12 games lost. Leche Rio Breogan are looking forward to face Palencia Baloncesto (#10) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Castello will play against Cocinas.com (#17) in Logrono and is hoping to prove to their fans that this time they can win.
