Regular Season Round 24: Sudety - Pleszew 110-85

We could consider it a predictable result in the game between close teams in Jelenia Gora where sixth ranked Sudety (13-12) smashed 5th ranked Pleszew (13-11) 110-85 on Saturday. Sudety made 21-of-23 free shots (91.3 percent) during the game. They shot the lights out from three sinking 17 long-distance shots on high 53.1 percentage. Sudety looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. The best player for the winners was point guard Michal Kozak (179-92) who had a double-double by scoring 27 points and 10 assists. Rafal Niesobski (189-82) chipped in 29 points and 7 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was swingman Artur Mrowczynski (194-84) who recorded 23 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists and point guard Alan Urbaniak (185-85) added 15 points and 4 assists respectively. Four Pleszew players scored in double figures. Pleszew's coach Kasper Smektala gave up on the game allowing to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Sudety maintains sixth position in Group D with 13-12 record. Pleszew lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the fifth place with 11 games lost. Sudety will face higher ranked Stal II Ostrow (#4) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Pleszew will play against Nowa Sol and hope to win that game.
