A very close game took place in Arenys del Mar between Menorca and Arenys. Second ranked Menorca (13-5) got a very close victory on the road over 5th ranked Arenys (10-7). Menorca managed to escape with a 2-point win 67-65 on Saturday evening. The guests trailed by 3 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 1-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 67-65. The winners were led by center Jan Orfila (207-84, agency: Athleadz) who scored that evening 17 points and 6 rebounds and forward Gabriel Torres (198-89) supported him with 9 points and 11 rebounds. Even a double-double of 15 points and 10 rebounds by swingman Josep Busquets (197-99) did not help to save the game for Arenys. Forward Joel Parra (202-0) added 12 points and 7 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Menorca have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain second position in Group C-A with 13-5 record having just two points less than leader Vic, which they share with Girona Basquet. Loser Arenys keeps the fifth place with seven games lost. They share the position with Sant Josep. Menorca will meet at home Barbera (#12) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Arenys will play against Cantaires Tortosa (#11) and hope to secure a win.
