Everything went according to plan when first ranked Estela (21-1) defeated 3rd ranked Easo (15-7) in Santander 75-71 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 5 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 2-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 75-71. It was a good game for Czech center Tomas Hampl (215-88) who led his team to a victory with 30 points and 9 rebounds. Pablo Sanchez (198-81) contributed with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Point guard Inigo Del-Valle (188-87) replied with 9 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists and forward Mikel Esnaola (200-94, agency: Dynamics Global Management) added 9 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Easo. Estela have an impressive 15-game winning streak. They maintain first position in Group A-A with 21-1 record, which they share with Zornotza. Loser Easo keeps the third place with seven games lost. Estela will face Burgos (#8) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Easo will play against Mondragon (#13) and hope to win that game.
