Regular Season Round 24: Liceo Frances - Casvi 95-79

There was a small surprise when fifteenth ranked Liceo Frances (6-15) beat 13th ranked Casvi (6-15) in Madrid 95-79 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Liceo Frances. Casvi was better in fourth quarter 23-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Liceo Frances shot the lights out from three sinking 14 long-distance shots on high 51.9 percentage. It was a good game for American forward Muhammed Ahmed (203, college: Bridgeport) who led his team to a victory with 35 points (!!!) and 9 rebounds. Forward Marcos Martin (197-90) contributed with 10 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. American-Nigerian guard Deji Ibitayo (193-93, college: Akron, agency: Duran International) replied with 18 points and 9 rebounds and forward Eduardo Gomez (197-93) added 18 points (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line) in the effort for Casvi. Four Liceo Frances and five Casvi players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Liceo Frances moved-up to thirteenth place in Group B, which they share with Casvi and Lanzarote. Liceo Frances will face higher ranked Almansa (#3) on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Casvi will play against Gran Canaria II (#10) and hope to win that game.
