Regular Season Round 24: Alba - Cecina 87-72

There was a surprise result when fourteenth ranked Alba (7-17) defeated at home higher ranked Cecina (12-12) 87-72 on Saturday. Alba made 17-of-22 free shots (77.3 percent) during the game. Alba outrebounded Cecina 36-23 including a 29-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for Alba especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 55.6 percentage. Cecina was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was Paolo Gallo (200-90) who had a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds. Power forward Giacomo DellAgnello (201-94) chipped in 20 points and 7 rebounds. Alba's coach Luca Jacomuzzi used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was power forward Leonardo Salvadori (198-93, agency: Players Group) who recorded 24 points and point guard Francesco Forti (183-94, agency: Players Group) added 10 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists respectively. Five Alba and four Cecina players scored in double figures. Alba moved-up to thirteenth place in B. Loser Cecina keeps the ninth position with 12 games lost. Alba will face Moncalieri (#15) on the road in the next round.
