Regular Season Round 24: Gniezno - Goleniow 96-56

There was no surprise when 14th ranked Goleniow (1-23) was crushed on the road by seventh ranked Gniezno (15-10) 96-56 on Saturday. Gniezno dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Goleniow's 30. Gniezno forced 20 Goleniow turnovers and outrebounded them 37-26 including a 32-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 33 assists comparing to just 18 passes made by Goleniow's players. The best player for the winners was power forward Marek Sobkowiak (200-86) who scored 18 points and 9 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). Michal Szydlowski (197-87) chipped in 15 points and 6 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Five Gniezno players scored in double figures. Coach 's team controlled all game and the coach could let to play 11 players and allowed the starting five to rest. At the other side the best for losing team was Bartlomiej Berdzik (196-93) who recorded 23 points and 7 rebounds and Mateusz Pryc (190-98) added 10 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists respectively. Gniezno have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to fifth place in Group A, which they share with Domino Inowr. Goleniow lost sixteenth consecutive game. They keep the fourteenth position with 23 games lost. Gniezno will face Olsztyn (#12) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Goleniow will play against Domino Inowr. and hope to win that game.
