Regular Season Round 22: Lucentum - Plasencia 69-65

Not a big story in a game when 11th ranked Plasencia (9-13) was defeated on the road by third ranked HLA Alicante (16-6) 69-65 on Saturday. However just four-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Plasencia was trailing by 5 points at halftime but managed to get 1-point lead after three quarters before a 25-20 charge of HLA Alicante, which allowed them to win the game. HLA Alicante outrebounded Plasencia 45-26 including a 30-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. Point guard Alvaro Lobo (192-92, agency: Duran International) scored 17 points and 6 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and point guard Adrian Chapela (192-94) chipped in 15 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. Lobo is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. At the losing side point guard Adrian Fuentes (183-87) responded with a double-double by scoring 10 points, 10 assists and 4 steals and Ivorian center Aboubacar Hima (207-94) scored 16 points and 5 rebounds. HLA Alicante moved-up to second place, which they share with La Roda. Newly promoted Plasencia dropped to the twelfth position with 13 games lost. HLA Alicante will face Fontedoso Carrefour (#4) in Avila in the next round. Plasencia will play on the road against L'Hospitalet (#6) and hope to win that game.
