Very important is a home loss of third ranked Smart Belize H. (3-2) against fourth ranked Dream Ballers (3-1) on Saturday night. Host Smart Belize H. was defeated by Dream Ballers in a tough game in Belize City 66-71. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Smart Belize H.. It was a key game for the second position in the league. Dream Ballers forced 21 Smart Belize H. turnovers. Strangely Smart Belize H. outrebounded Dream Ballers 49-31 including 16 on the offensive glass. It was a good game for American center Tahj Wells (208-89, college: Edward Waters) who led his team to a victory with 8 points and 11 rebounds. Center Macario Augustine contributed with 13 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. The former international forward Kurt Burgess (196-82) replied with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 11 rebounds and international Brian White (196-95, college: Wesley) added 8 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Smart Belize H.Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Dream Ballers moved-up to second place, which they share with Belize City D. Smart Belize H. at the other side dropped to the fourth position with two games lost. Dream Ballers will play against league's second-placed Belize City D. on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Smart Belize H. will play against Verdes and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
