Regular Season Round 24: Sagunto - UCAM Murcia II 57-68

Everything went according to plan when second ranked UCAM Murcia II (14-4) defeated 9th ranked Sagunto (7-11) in Gilet 68-57 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by UCAM Murcia II. Sagunto was better in third quarter 17-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Sagunto 40-21 including a 29-12 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a good game for forward Rodrigo Seoane (197-99) who led his team to a victory with 22 points and 6 rebounds. Center Sergio Mendiola (207-96) contributed with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. Guard Luis Torrijo (184-93) replied with 14 points and American Nicolas Boscafiori (201-92) added 9 points in the effort for Sagunto. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. UCAM Murcia II keeps a position of Group E leader, which they share with Gandia. Loser Sagunto keeps the ninth place with 11 games lost. UCAM Murcia II will face Begastri (#12) in Cehegin in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Sagunto will play on the road against Benidorm and hope to win that game.
