Regular Season Round 22: Granada - La Roda 78-62

There was a change at the LEB Silver leadership position after last games. Round 22 most important game was a defeat of league's leader La Roda (16-6). They were defeated by second ranked CB Granada (17-5) 78-62 on Saturday night. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of La Roda. It was a key game for the top position in the league. The game was mostly controlled by CB Granada. La Roda managed to win fourth quarter 15-12. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. CB Granada dominated down low during the game scoring 40 of its points in the paint compared to La Roda's 20. Naturalized Argentinian forward Alejandro Bortolussi (202-89) had a double-double by scoring 14 points and 12 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Brazilian guard Carlos Cobos (193-88) chipped in 16 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists during the contest. Four CB Granada players scored in double figures. At the losing side American guard DeAngelo Hailey (190-90, college: NW Missouri St.) responded with 24 points and 5 steals and forward Jose Blazquez (197-97) scored 13 points and 6 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. CB Granada have a solid four-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader. Newly promoted La Roda dropped to the second place with six games lost. They share the position with Lucentum. They were replaced at the leadership position by Granada. La Roda will play next round against Moron trying to make it back to the top of the standings. CB Granada will try to continue on its current victory against tenth ranked Myrtia in Murcia.
