A2 top team - Peristeri GS (19-0) had no problems winning another game on Saturday. This time they crushed ninth ranked Ethnikos (9-10) in Athens 94-67. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Ethnikos. The game without a history. Peristeri GS led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Ethnikos' 30. It was a quality performance for center Gaios Skordilis (207-87) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 14 rebounds. American-Bulgarian point guard Keydren Clark (180-84, college: St.Peter's) accounted for 18 points and 5 assists for the winning side. Four Peristeri GS players scored in double figures. Estonian point guard Rait-Riivo Laane (179-93) came up with 19 points and 5 assists and center Kostas Macheras (205-85) added 13 points and 11 rebounds respectively for Ethnikos in the defeat. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The victory was the nineteenth consecutive win for Peristeri GS. Newly promoted Peristeri GS maintains first place with 19-0 record. Loser Ethnikos dropped to the eighth position with ten games lost. They share it with Ermis Agias. Peristeri GS will meet Ermis Agias (#8) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Ethnikos will play against Doxa Lefkadas and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
