Regular Season Round 27: Siarka - KK Warszawa 66-80

Bottom-ranked KK Warszawa managed to get a fifth victory on Saturday night. This time newly promoted KK Warszawa won against ninth-ranked Siarka in Tarnobrzeg 80-66. The best player for the winners was swingman Michal Wojtynski (193-89) who scored 19 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists. Center Krystian Kozluk (205-94) chipped in 21 points and 9 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field). Four KK Warszawa players scored in double figures. KK Warszawa's coach Andrzej Kierlewicz used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was the former international center Piotr Niedzwiedzki (210-93) who recorded 17 points, 8 rebounds and 6 blocks and point guard Jakub Stanios (180-94) added 12 points and 5 assists respectively. Newly promoted KK Warszawa maintains seventeenth place with 5-20 record. Loser Siarka dropped to the eleventh position with 15 games lost. KK Warszawa will meet at home higher ranked Pogon Prudnik (#13) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Siarka will play against the league's leader Spojnia where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
