Regular Season Round 24: Snaefell - IA 108-80

Bottom-ranked IA (0-21) is still winless. This time they lost on the road their 21th consecutive match to fifth ranked Snaefell (12-9) 108-80 on Sunday evening. The game without a history. Snaefell led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Snaefell outrebounded IA 41-26 including 31 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by IA's players. The best player for the winners was American guard Christian Covile (193-93, college: Adrian) who had a double-double by scoring 38 points (!!!) and 12 rebounds. Point guard Geir Helgason (180-96) chipped in 20 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Snaefell's coach Ingi Thor Steinthorsson felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was American point guard Marcus Dewberry (183, college: St.Leo) who recorded 42 points (!!!) and 5 rebounds (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) and point guard Sindri Ingason (183-0) added 13 points and 5 rebounds respectively. Snaefell have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain fifth position with 12-9 record. Loser IA still closes the standings. Snaefell will meet league's leader Skallagrimur in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. IA will play against the league's second-placed Breidablik (#2) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
