Top Division I top team - Gembo BBC (15-5) had no problems winning another game on Sunday. This time they beat fourteenth ranked Houthalen (4-14) in Borgerhout 95-77. Gembo BBC looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Gembo BBC made 20 blocks. Point guard Philippe Peeters (188-95) scored 24 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the charge for the winners and center Anthony Vermeersch (202-90) chipped in 17 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. Five Gembo BBC players scored in double figures. At the losing side point guard Chiel Koonings (180-90) responded with 23 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and Lithuanian forward Vaidotas Jatulevicius (194-88) scored 17 points and 6 rebounds. Houthalen's coach Stefan Sappenberghs rotated ten players seeing no chance for a win. Gembo BBC maintains first position with 15-5 record. Houthalen at the other side stay at the bottom place with 14 games lost. Gembo BBC are looking forward to face Soba (#7) in Antwerpen in the next round where they are favorite. Houthalen will play at home against Royal Brussels (#8) and is hoping to prove to their fans that the loss was just an accident.
