Regular Season Round 24: Mataro Feimat - Valls Nutrion 90-56

There was a minor upset when 5th ranked Valls Nutrion (12-6) was outleveled on the road by eighth ranked Mataro Feimat (8-10) 90-56 on Sunday. The game without a history. Mataro Feimat led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Valls Nutrion's 34. They outrebounded Valls Nutrion 37-26 including 31 on the defensive glass. It was a good game for Dominican power forward Jose Cabrera (206-84) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 24 points, 13 rebounds and 4 blocks (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field). David Romero (-90) contributed with 16 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Four Mataro Feimat players scored in double figures. Forward Marc Gimenez (195-95) replied with 13 points and 7 rebounds and point guard Adria Baiget (190-89) added 9 points in the effort for Valls Nutrion. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Mataro Feimat maintains eighth position in Group C-B with 8-10 record. Loser Valls Nutrion dropped to the fourth place with six games lost. Mataro Feimat will face league's second-placed Pardinyes-L. in Lleida in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Valls Nutrion will play at home against Palma II and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
