There was no surprise when 15th ranked Moncalieri (3-21) was defeated on the road by seventh ranked Valsesia (14-10) 69-55 on Sunday. Valsesia had a 33-20 advantage in offensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was guard Nicolo Gatti (196-91) who scored 22 points and 5 rebounds. Guglielmo Sodero (191-93) chipped in 18 points and 6 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was naturalized Nigerian power forward Emmanuel Enihe (198-98, agency: Players Group) who recorded 16 points and 5 rebounds and guard Cesare Zugno (185-98) added 13 points respectively. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Valsesia moved-up to sixth place in B, which they share with Forli Tigers. Loser Moncalieri keeps the fifteenth position with 21 games lost. Valsesia will face Cecina (#9) on the road in the next round. Moncalieri will play against Alba (#13) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
