Regular Season Round 23: Agribertocchi OR - Montegrano 83-100

Not a big story in a game in Orzinuovi where 14th ranked Agribertocchi OR (4-19) was defeated by fifth ranked Montegrano (15-8) 100-83 on Sunday. Montegrano made 20-of-21 free shots (95.2 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. It was a great evening for American LaMarshall Corbett (189-88, college: Angelo St.) who led his team to a victory scoring 21 points and 7 assists. His fellow American import Marshawn Powell (201-90, college: Arkansas, agency: HMS) helped adding 20 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Montegrano's coach Gabriele Ceccarelli used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Naturalized Argentinian Mario-Jose Ghersetti (201-81) responded with 23 points and 9 rebounds and American point guard Adam Smith (185-92, college: Georgia Tech) scored 24 points (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line). Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Montegrano moved-up to third place in A2. Agribertocchi OR at the other side, also newcomer in the league, dropped to the sixteenth position with 19 games lost. Montegrano will face Bergamo (#14) at home in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Agribertocchi OR will play against Unieuro Forli and hope to win that game.
