Regular Season Round 16: Faros Keratsiniou - Niki Lefkadas 57-53

Very expected game when 6th ranked Niki Lefkadas (8-8) lost on the road to second ranked Faros Keratsiniou (15-1) 57-53. However just four-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Niki Lefkadas won third quarter 17-13. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Niki Lefkadas 49-27 including a 33-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. American forward Lykendra Johnson (185-89, college: Michigan St.) fired a double-double by scoring 14 points and 18 rebounds for the winners. Point guard Aristea Maglara (168-83) chipped in 5 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. American forward Peyton Whitted (190-95, college: Penn St.) produced 12 points and 9 rebounds and her fellow American import guard Kelley Austria (183, college: Dayton, agency: Interperformances) added 16 points and 4 steals respectively for lost side. Faros Keratsiniou have an impressive ten-game winning streak. Newly promoted Faros Keratsiniou maintains second position with 15-1 record behind leader Olympiacos. Niki Lefkadas at the other side dropped to the fifth place with eight games lost. Faros Keratsiniou's next round opponent will be league's leader Olympiacos in Pireus and it will be for sure the game of the week. Niki Lefkadas will play at home against Dafni Agioy (#4) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
