There was an upset when higher ranked Estudiantes O. (15-14) was defeated on the road by twelfth ranked CA Temperley (12-16) 77-59 on Sunday. CA Temperley looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. American forward John-A Thomas (198-82, college: Columbus St.) fired a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Guard Lucas Ortiz (190-87) chipped in 17 points and 7 assists. Cameroonian power forward Gaston Essengue (203-83, college: UNLV) produced a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds and swingman Santiago Arese (196-87) added 12 points and 7 rebounds respectively for lost side. CA Temperley maintains twelfth place in South with 12-16 record. Loser Estudiantes O. keeps the fifth position with 14 games lost. CA Temperley will face higher ranked Atenas (#6) in Carmen de Patagones in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Estudiantes O. will play on the road against Gimnasia LP in La Plata and hope to win that game.
