Regular Season Round 24: Catanzaro - Scauri 101-77

Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both ninth ranked Catanzaro and 8th ranked Scauri had identical 11-12 record. This time Catanzaro used a home court advantage and smashed the opponent from Scauri 101-77 on Sunday night. Catanzaro dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Scauri's 22 and made 24-of-27 free shots (88.9 percent) during the game. Scauri was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was power forward Tommaso Pichi (202-96) who scored 17 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Guard Pasquale Battaglia (188-93) chipped in 19 points. Four Catanzaro players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was point guard Joshua Giammo (190-93) who recorded 20 points and 5 rebounds (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line) and point guard Vincenzo Provenzani (188-99) added 23 points and 4 assists respectively. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Catanzaro (12-12) moved-up to eighth place in B which they share with defeated Scauri. Loser Scauri keeps the eighth position with 13 games lost. Catanzaro will face higher ranked Roma Luiss (#6) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game.
