Regular Season Round 19: Ullern - Gimle Pride 71-51

Very significant was Ullern's (#1, 13-3) victory against their biggest opponent Gimle Pride (10-6) 71-51. It looked good early as Gimle Pride took a 6-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Ullern had a 21-9 second period charge getting the lead and Gimle Pride was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 51-71. Ullern made 16-of-18 charity shots (88.9 percent) during the game. They also forced 26 Gimle Pride turnovers. It was an exceptional evening for guard Ingrid Gjerdevik (169-92) who led the winners and scored 26 points and 5 rebounds (made all of her nine free throws !!!). Forward Marte Moe (183-0) accounted for 16 points and 7 rebounds for the winning side. The former international guard Henriette Ellingsen (170-87, college: Arkansas Tech) came up with 11 points and 5 rebounds and forward Birte Hegrenaes (177-88) added 10 points and 6 rebounds respectively for Gimle Pride in the defeat. Ullern have a solid series of four victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with 13-3 record. Gimle Pride at the other side keeps the second position with six games lost. Ullern will play against bottom-ranked Storm Ungdom (#7) in Tromso in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Gimle Pride will have a break next round.
