Regular Season Round 18: Helsingborg - Bankeryd 125-67

Basketettan top team - Helsingborg (15-0) had no problems winning another game on Sunday. This time they crushed fifth ranked Bankeryd (7-6) 125-67. Helsingborg shot 63.8 percent from the field and made 18-of-23 free shots (78.3 percent) during the game. Helsingborg outrebounded Bankeryd 38-16 including a 28-12 advantage in defensive rebounds. They shot the lights out from three sinking 19 long-distance shots on high 52.8 percentage. The best player for the winners was the former international center Johan Akesson (210-84) who scored 15 points and 9 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). Guard Erik Joelsson (196-97) chipped in 18 points and 6 rebounds (perfect from the field making all six shots). Helsingborg's coach Martin Fastberg felt very confident that he used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. At the other side the best for losing team was guard Jonas Eriksson (190-85) who recorded 15 points and Jamaican center Hugh Robinson (202-83) added 12 points and 7 rebounds respectively. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Helsingborg have an impressive 15-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 15-0 record. Newly promoted Bankeryd dropped to the sixth place with six games lost. Helsingborg will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Bankeryd will play against Eskilstuna (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
